Straight From The Heart

Billboard charting singer-songwriter Tom Fuller has reinvented himself and classics from his storied career in the tender, emotional album Straight From The Heart.  After laying low during the COVID pandemic, Fuller recently went back into the recording studio, creatively reimagining ten past full-band studio recordings into stripped-down, gorgeous acoustic songs.  Plus, Tom wrote two new tunes.  These thirteen songs center thematically around the theme of love, yet focus on diverse types of love, such as new love, forbidden love and inspired love, among others.

Straight From The Heart showcases Fuller’s top-notch songwriting as well as his finger-picking guitar virtuosity.  This is Tom’s seventh album and follows 2020’s Waterfall that included two Billboard Top 30 tunes, “Forever I’m Yours” and the title track “Waterfall.”  Another Billboard charting hit, the separately released 2019 single “Doin’ Nothin’” is also included in Fuller’s latest project.  But Tom innovatively reinvented elements to transform it into a love song.  (The full album song list is provided below.) 

Fuller stated, “I finally recorded these songs how I originally wrote them, very intimately, down to their bare basics.  They’re super cool, different, subtle.  I know my fans will enjoy these revisited, raw and relatable love songs.” The Chicago-based artist added, “I’m very proud of this unique solo album.  And I’m so happy to be back in the game on a journey of love.  It’s such a feel-good to be creating and writing again!  My heart is full!!” 

Besides making major changes to old rockers and ballads for the new album project, Tom Fuller has made many significant personal and professional changes in his life since the pandemic began.  Alongside being a lauded songwriter, Fuller has been an extremely successful entrepreneur who sold his main business and two homes, consolidating and simplifying his life, just like Tom did with the new Straight From The Heart song versions.  Also, after years of performing and touring all over the world, Fuller took a well-deserved artistic time out during this unprecedented historical period.  However, Tom built his dream home complete with an amazing recording studio and jam room with guest seating, along with professional stage, speakers and lighting.  

In this new artistic soul-searching environment, and as society was opening up, Tom Fuller became more energized to create his next musical project and was encouraged to start writing again.  During this period Tom completed two songs for the new project, “If It Feels Right” and “Music Box.”  Fuller then took his vision from the new home studio and changed things up by using a local Chicagoland professional recording studio with a new producer.  With Straight From The Heart, Tom desired a reinvented sound and recording dynamic like nothing else before in his career.  

Fuller’s latest album (and sixth album Waterfall) will be mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London, also where Tom’s earlier albums Ask and Freedom were mastered too. Straight From The Heart songs will be available in the near future for digital downloads on major platforms, plus the album will be available on vinyl for sale online and in retail stores.  Also, Tom Fuller’s Waterfall album will also be released internationally, plus there are discussions about boxsets of Tom’s albums all on vinyl.
